This position we are currently hiring for at our growing company where we offer several different services for people and their pets.
Safety is the responsibility of each individual and management expects all work to be done in a safe manner.
We have a three phase hiring process. Only those who complete all phases will be considered for employment.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Pets in our facility must be cared for promptly, every day. The facility is staffed 365 days a year and is exceptionally busy when schools are on holiday recess. Experience is desired, however a genuine love for animals is a must. You must be able to handle dogs of all sizes without being afraid of them and without allowing them to control you. You must be in good physical condition, able to squat, stoop, bend, lift, and do a lot of walking. Must be willing to maintain the highest standards in cleanliness. There will be opportunities for advancement, if you excel.

NEED TO (the must have’s):
- Be able to lift 40 lbs.
- Previous dog experience meaning more than that you have owned a dog.
- Good dog handling.
- Good with cats too!
- Customer interface to include checking pets in and out.
- Prepares invoices and accepts payments.
- Answers the phone and takes reservations.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Expectations and Duties
To transport dogs to and from our facility safely, efficiently and accurately, while providing superior customer service, and instilling confidence in every client you come in contact with. This position to relied on heavily by management and is a true representation of our facility.
- Customer Service
- Provide excellent customer service, going above and beyond for our clients
- Maintain control of the dogs and instill trust and confidence in our customer
- Provide the clients the daily report until the report has been made electronic
- Dog care
- Ensure that dogs are being transported safely by clipping them into their seats and using the crate/back of vehicle when necessary
- Always park so you are unloading/loading on the sidewalk side, not into traffic
- Carefully unload dogs, ensuring you have unclipped the correct lead, and that you safely hand off the lead to client
- Be sure to hand off all belongings to the client
- Facilities/Vehicle Maintenance
- Keep track of gas, oil changes, maintenance lights, tire pressure, inspection etc.. and inform owners when something needs to be done to a vehicle
- Keep an eye and ear out for odd sounds, smells, etc.. that might lead to a mechanical issue with the vehicle
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness of the vehicles. The owners will inform you of a day when you will be expected to remain on the clock to vacuum out and clean the interior of the vehicles
- Teamwork/Communication
- Accurately keep track of all dogs you are receiving and dropping off
- Accurately keep track and noting all belongings including but not limited to lunches, leashes, boarding bags, etc…
- Inform owner on call of any issues you may face on the road that would cause you to be late i.e. traffic, breakdown, etc…
- Inform owner on call if you need to call out no later than 8pm the night before your shift
- Inform owner on call as soon as possible if you are going to be late to a stop so we can inform the clients who are expecting you
- Pay attention to traffic patterns, weather and current events so you may be prepared to leave when necessary so you will arrive on time
- Double check board to ensure you have all dogs that need to be transported
- Inform customers to call the office with any and all questions, reservations, etc…
DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a pet facility or pet care environment a plus
- Excellent work history and references
COMPENSATION
Pay depends on experience. Performance based bonus upon approval.
