This position we are currently hiring for at our growing company where we offer several different services for people and their pets.<\/p>\n

Lead Kennel Tech (Lead Tech) is the highest designation of a Kennel Tech. A Lead Tech will be assigned a primary area of responsibility. However, all Lead Techs are required to maintain proficiency in other areas outside of their primary area.<\/p>\n

This is a animal centered position with a great support staff and leadership team. At Happy Camper we have a three phase hiring process. Only those who complete both phases will be considered for employment.<\/p>\n

JOB DESCRIPTION<\/h3>\n

Purpose of Job<\/strong>
\nTo provide superior overnight care to our four-legged clients, therefore giving our customers peace of mind that their dog is never left unattended.\u00a0 This position is extremely important to the overall mission and philosophy of our company.<\/p>\n

Expectations and Duties<\/strong><\/p>\n

Customer Service:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n
• Hand off any and all dogs (with a smile, please!) that are leaving late and informing H&L of the time they left<\/li>\n
• Receive any dogs that arrive before next shift teammate arrives with a friendly demeanor<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  Dog Care:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  \n
  • Take dogs out for one or two potty breaks (depending on night) and clean up after them.<\/li>\n
  • Inform on-call owner of any concerns or issues.<\/li>\n
  • Ensure you are following instructions related to who can go out together and who needs to go out separately.<\/li>\n
  • Overall, dogs should be brought out in small groups to avoid excitability.<\/li>\n
  • Assess floor plan and inform on-call owner if there are any concerns or issues (i.e. barking, whining, fighting, scratching, chewing, etc..).<\/li>\n
  • Our goal is for all dogs to be comfortable and quiet overnight.<\/li>\n
  • Get the dogs out for morning potty, adhering to all special instructions regarding what dogs can be together and what dogs need to be separate.<\/li>\n
  • Clean up after them\u00a0 Put dogs back in their sleeping arrangements for feeds after area is fully cleaned<\/li>\n
  • In the morning, assess the dogs sleeping quarters and perform any necessary cleaning that needs to be done<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Facilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
    • Continue the nightly cleaning duties communicated by the previous shift\u2019s teammate, this includes but is not limited to; laundry, hardwoods, bowls, windexing, feeds (if dogs have not eaten), setting up blankets, trash removal etc\u2026<\/li>\n
    • Lock up for the night, and turn out lights<\/li>\n
    • Ensure laundry is complete and that dog rooms are fully stocked with towels<\/li>\n
    • In the event of a snowstorm, shovel and make sure yard is free of snow and ice<\/li>\n
    • Inform <\/span>superior<\/span><\/span> of any issues surrounding the facility i.e. leaking, flooding, heating or cooling issues, icing, power outages,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Teamwork\/Communication:<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
      • Download with previous shift\u2019s team member on all applicable notes, boarders, special instructions, floor plan, etc.<\/li>\n
      • Listen to voicemail messages and inform superior if there is any pertinent that we need to address (i.e. anything related to that day or the next day or a dog currently in our care).<\/li>\n
      • DO NOT ERASE VOICEMAILS<\/li>\n
      • Inform next shift teammate of any notes, issues overnight, progress reports started, pertaining phone messages, etc\u2026<\/li>\n
      • Inform superior of any dogs that arrive exceptionally early so the owner can be charged an early fee<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        A positive public interface is required. This includes being well groomed, having proper personal hygiene and wearing appropriate attire. A courteous and cheerful demeanor is required when interfacing with the public, fellow employees and management. You will be required to interface with the public including responding to questions by pet owners, giving tours, using electronic media such as email and Facebook, and using the phone for company business.<\/p>\n

          NEED TO (the must have’s):<\/h3>\n

          • Be able to lift 40 lbs.<\/li>\n
          • Previous dog experience meaning more than that you have owned a dog<\/li>\n
          • Good dog handling<\/li>\n
          • Good with cats too!<\/li>\n
          • Customer interface to include checking pets in and out.<\/li>\n
          • Prepares invoices and accepts payments.<\/li>\n
          • Answers the phone and takes reservations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:<\/h3>\n

            You will be involved with all of the day-to-day activities that happen at Happy Camper. You are key to each pet’s stay – making sure everything that they need is happening and ensuring our doggie guests have a great vacation while their owners are away. As the primary contact person with our dog guests, you are responsible for:<\/p>\n

              • Making sure every guest is comfortable, happy and receiving all of the services that an owner requests.<\/li>\n
              • Maintaining the daily duties and in a timely manner.<\/li>\n
              • Closely monitoring the health and wellness of every guest.<\/li>\n
              • Communicating clearly with our leadership team.<\/li>\n
              • Feeding and medicating guests, and keeping detailed records of our guests entire stay.<\/li>\n
              • Maintaining a highest level of cleanliness in all areas of our facility, play yards and outdoor dog patios.<\/li>\n
              • Exercising guests.<\/li>\n
              • Basic grooming of guests: bathing, nail trims, brushing and ear cleaning.<\/li>\n
              • Making sure every guest goes home clean, happy and we exceeded the expectation.<\/li>\n
              • Customer Interface<\/li>\n
              • The need to learn and use our reservation system<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION<\/h3>\n

                • High school diploma or equivalent<\/li>\n
                • Previous experience in a pet facility or pet care environment a plus<\/li>\n
                • Excellent work history and references<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                  Pay depends on experience. Performance based bonus upon approval.
