WHO WE SERVE

We enjoy seeing pet owners feel good about taking care of their 4 legged family members. The services we provide for them goes far beyond just taking care of their animals. It involves developing a meaningful purpose filled relationship with each and every one of them, a relationship that will grow and prosper through many generations of pet ownership.

WHY WE ARE HERE

At our facility our goal is to improve the lives of dogs and their owners in all situations. Dogs are full of unconditional love. And it’s our duty to give some of that back. When you see in a customer’s eyes the look they get when they really understand that we care about their pets just the way they do—when they really know that it’s true—well that’s a feeling that is hard to describe.

WHO WE ARE

Trust is our responsibility. Our goal is to improve the lives of dogs and their owners in all situations. When you see in a customer’s eyes the look they get when they really understand that we care about their pets just the way they do – when they really know that it’s true – well that’s a feeling that’s hard to describe. It’s the combination of immense trust and honorable service that makes us so proud of what we do.

SERVICES

Boarding

Although our facility runs like a well-oiled machine, our service truly personalizes each dog’s care. We consider each dog’s social and physical needs. If a dog wants to be cuddled, that’s what he’ll get, but if he enjoys more high-energy action, we will provide that too! We really get to know our guests and work to build long lasting, trusting relationships with them. We have designed a unique facility to reduce the stress that both our customers and their pets experience during your separation. Our boarding facility has dogs enjoying the comfort of their own “hotel suite” complete with large indoor areas with their own attached yard. In addition we have large play yards which each guest gets to run in each day.

Training

Our philosophy in training is simple. Do what works. Do what makes sense. We will never ask clients to do something that they don’t feel comfortable with. We believe in building a strong positive foundation between dog and owner. We do that by teaching the basic fundamentals of clear communication with each dog. When we get clear concise communication, training becomes a breeze. We want to teach the dogs what we expect of them through a reward based method so that the dogs is clear about our expectations. But, at some point, any dog will push the limits and the the owner needs to set firm and clear boundaries.

Sports

We are a Premiere Facility with North American Diving Dogs and hold events regularly! We even occasionally host a Splash Dogs Event. We are proud to a be facility that serves the Amador, Calaveras, Folsom, Granite Bay, El Dorado, and Greater Sacramento/Stockton areas.

Barn Hunt is a cool new sport sweeping the nation and it’s not just for terriers. Taken as an offshoot from the original AKC “Earth Dog” Competition, Barn Hunt was started to broaden the sport for all competitors and not be limited to just small terrier breeds.

Ever think that a dog should have been a detection dog? “He just has the greatest nose!” Good news! Now, anyone can participate in detection work for fun through a great new sport called Nose Work! We help prepare dogs to obtain titles in this fast growing new sport.

GCK9 is proud to be the host facility for Gold Country Working Dog Club, a full member club with the United Schutzhund Clubs of America. GCWDC provides both IPO and Ring Sport Training. Gold Country Working Dog Club is a small but successful club.
